![]() Releases of Mortgages and Deeds of Trust.The following is a partial list of documents recorded with the Clerk for permanent retention at the Maryland State Archives: The Oaths of Office for elected and appointed local officials, as well as officials appointed by the Governor for certain boards and commissions, are administered by the Clerk.Jury trials are available only in the Circuit Courts of Maryland. Citizens are selected randomly for service on grand and petit juries in the manner prescribed by the Supreme Court of Maryland.Liens and judgments including encumbrances, Federal tax liens, hospital liens, Maryland tax liens, District Court liens, civil judgments, and United States District Court judgments are recorded in the Office of the Clerk.Juvenile cases may include any matter brought before the Court which involve persons under the age of eighteen years.Appeals from the District Court and requests for jury trials.Felony and certain misdemeanor charges filed by the Grand Jury or the State's Attorney.Matters which involve non-domestic issues including foreclosures, mechanics liens and injunctions.Matters which involve domestic relations including divorces, child support, and custody.Judicial Review of Administrative Agency Decisions.Search Court Records The following is a partial list of the types of cases filed and processed by the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court: ![]() Court records can be searched on the Maryland Judiciary Web site. However, access to some records may be restricted. If you have questions or would like information on expediting a certified copy of a divorce certificate, please call (334) 206-5418.The records maintained by the Office of the Clerk of Court are available to the public for review. For more information on Apostille and Exemplified copies, view the Apostille and Exemplified page. Certain restrictions apply to Apostille and Exemplified copies of birth and death certificates. The Apostille and Exemplified copies consist of an Alabama birth, death, marriage, or divorce certificate signed by the State Registrar and an additional certification signed by the Alabama Secretary of State. Apostille and Exemplified CopiesĪpostille and Exemplified copies of vital records are routinely required for foreign use. Please contact the appropriate circuit court for more information. Order a Certificate Online.Ĭorrections/Changes to Divorce CertificatesĮrrors on a divorce certificate must be corrected through the Alabama county circuit court which granted the divorce. Note that there are additional fees for using this service and for upgrading to UPS shipping. To Order a Certificate Online: You may order certificates through the service provider VitalChek using a major credit or debit card.A map showing locations of county health departments where vital records may be obtained is available. Most divorce certificates can be issued while you wait. In Person in Alabama: You may go to any county health department in the State of Alabama to obtain a certified copy of an Alabama divorce certificate.By Mail: Send the above information and the appropriate fee to: Alabama Vital Records P.O.Download Mail-In Application (also available in Spanish).Address where the certificate is to be mailed.Full names before first marriage of both spouses.Please provide as much of the following information as possible for us to locate the divorce certificate: Additional fees are required for expedited service. Check or money order should be made payable to "State Board of Health." Please do not send cash. The fee to search for a divorce certificate is $15.00, which includes one certified copy of the divorce certificate or a "Certificate of Failure to Find." For each additional copy of the certificate ordered at the same time, the fee is $6.00. They may be requested by anyone who can provide enough information to search for the record and submit payment of the proper fee. (Information for divorces prior to 1950 must be obtained from the circuit court in the county where the divorce was granted.) Restrictionsīy Alabama law, divorce certificates are unrestricted. The Alabama Center for Health Statistics began filing divorce certificates in 1950 for divorces that occurred in Alabama.
